These pages will be dedicated to my life’s work, the genealogy of my own family. Anyone who can provide me with more information about my ancestry is more than welcome to do so.
Through my father, I am descended from various colonial settlers in the western provinces of Cuba (Pinar del Río, Artemisa, and La Habana) and Spanish immigrants who arrived in the 19th century from Galicia, Asturias, the Canary Islands, and Andalucía.
My mother’s family is more diverse. Her ancestry derives from Lebanon, France, and Cuba’s eastern provinces (Camagüey and Guantánamo). Her father was from the Beqaa Valley, and her mother was born in Guantánamo to a Lebanese-Cuban father and a French-Cuban mother.
My great-grandfather, in turn, was born to a Maronite from Ghazir and a woman from Camagüey of French descent. My great-grandmother was 3/4 French and 1/4 Afro-Cuban.
Due to poor record keeping in different areas of the world, some parts of my family tree are more researched and well-sourced than others. Thus, I am always adding to it (albeit slowly) and welcome any other family historians with similar interests to collaborate and share information.
At the moment, it would be quite tedious to catalog all the information from my family tree on this website, so I will start off by focusing on my most prominent research priorities, all of which are labeled based on whether they involve paternal or maternal ancestors.
