Worldbuilding has always been a passion of mine. In the past, it has functioned as a hobby and a means for me to explore the possibilities that lie in various historical settings. The projects I include here range from fully realized alternate history projects to standalone constructed languages (also known as conlangs). My favorite settings to explore are those that are grounded in alternate history or sci-fi, but I also have my own appreciation for fantasy.
Established Worlds
- Alexander Lives: This world explores what might have happened if Alexander the Great did not die in 323 BC, instead living much longer. This project is more focused on conlanging, positing the existence of a “Hellenic language family” that spans across the Mediterranean and much of the Middle East.
- Maktub: From the Arabic term maktūb “it is written”. This is an alternate timeline in which al-Andalus never fell, and the Iberian Peninsula remained united under the banner of a single Arab country.
- Thusald: This project explores the lost continent of Atlantis from a realist perspective. If Atlantis was real, what might the continent have looked like? How would it have evolved, and who would have settled it?
Stand-alone Conlangs
- Khejerite: A Middle Eastern language spoken by descendants of the Sumerians around the coast of the Persian Gulf, in a fictional country called Khejer.
- Utramarin: This is a Gallo-Romance language spoken by descendants of the Crusaders in much of the Levant. It is a co-official language of the Kingdom of Utramar.
- Pezuric: A satem Indo-European language spoken in the western Iberian Peninsula. Historians have speculatively linked them to the Paesuri, a pre-Roman tribe in Lusitania who were believed by their contemporaries to be related to the Thracians.
- Vilbrog: This is a speculative language meant to be spoken by the Viltrumites of the Invincible franchise.
